Kerri Walker writes stories that help children feel safe, seen, and loved.
A certified trauma and resiliency life coach with a degree in sociology, Kerri has spent more than 15 years walking beside families through some of their hardest moments — a road she knows firsthand, as a survivor of domestic violence, traumatic brain injury, and childhood trauma. That work taught her something she has never forgotten: a gentle story, read aloud by someone who loves you, can quiet even the biggest worries in a little heart.
Her path began as an advocate in Ohio and Phoenix. At a large Phoenix shelter, her work grew from advocacy to helping develop and run the shelter’s Traumatic Brain Injury program. In 2022 she founded Invisible Wounds: Healing from Trauma LLC. Today her work centers on writing, speaking, and teaching — and on a prevention idea she carries everywhere: give every child the foundational skills of confidence, self-worth, and asking for help, early, so they grow into adults who choose safe love.
Annie Bear Asks “What If?” grew out of Kerri’s own childhood. As a little girl, she was afraid to fall asleep at night — so she wrote the book she wishes someone had read to her.
